Linden City Schools Superintendent, Dr. Timothy Thurman, and the Linden City School board members held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new multipurpose gym at Linden Elementary School on Friday, June 7, 2024. With the assistance of Summerville Construction, the project is presently underway. The building will be used to accommodate district professional development events, assemblies, and the students' physical activities.
Dr. Thurman stated, "We have invested $1.2 million in renovations at George P. Austin Jr. High School and $700,000 on a prior renovation project at Linden Elementary School. The final investment cost for HVAC installations, which are currently in the final stages of completion at Linden Elementary and George P. Austin Jr. High Schools, are presently anticipated to be $1.3 million. Furthermore, the multipurpose building project at Linden Elementary School is projected to incur expenses of $1.2 million."
The requirements of students are always changing, and modern learning environments need to support them. Through strategically modernizing our educational facilities, we can foster students' intellectual, social, and emotional growth while preparing them for life outside the classroom.
