Meetings

Linden City School Board meetings are generally held on the fourth Monday of each month at 4:30 PM on the ground floor of the Central Office. The day is subject to change dependent upon school holidays, breaks, and/or weather advisories.

Board Members

Ms. Ola Ford is a resident of Linden, Alabama and the mother of two children. She is a graduate of Linden High School's class of 1987. Ms. Ford has been a dedicated servant of the Linden City School Board for the last nine years and currently serves in the role of vice president.

Mrs. Mitzi Forrester Gates has served on the Linden City School Board of Education since June 2022. She earned her B.S. degree in English from Livingston University and her Master's in English Education from Vanderbilt University. Now retired, Mrs. Gates taught for twenty-eight years, spending the last thirteen years of her teaching career at Linden High School. She is a member of Thomaston Baptist Church where she serves as worship leader. Mrs. Gates has been a dedicated servant on the Linden City School Board for the last two years.

Ms. Donnanique Washington, is the Linden City Board of Education's newest board members. She is a Linden High School alumna, whose appointment began in April 2024. With over twelve years of experience in educational support programs, program operations, and grants management, she currently works as a Program Officer for the U.S. Department of Education. Ms. Washington received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (Pre-Medicine) from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of West Alabama. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Rural Education from the University of West Alabama. Ms. Washington is passionate about rural education and is optimistic about the future of Linden City Schools. She is excited to work with fellow board members to ensure students achieve academic and personal success.
